RL: Tell us about growing up in Cayman.

SE: The beach was the centre of my childhood. Whether camping, boating, snorkelling, fishing or even diving for conchs, everything revolved around the crystal clear Caribbean Sea and it would have been a tremendous shame to not take advantage of the beach right on my doorstep.

RL: What drew you into a career in real estate?

SE: Being a people person is at the very heart of working in real estate; you must be prepared to meet and align with people from all walks of life, especially in the cultural melting pot that is the Cayman Islands. I am busy by nature and love the pressure of working in a fast-paced environment. The last five years have seen me evolve as an individual and a real estate agent, and I consider myself blessed to work alongside a fantastic group of women. Real estate has given me the freedom to thrive and embrace the everyday challenges and successes of the industry – I wouldn’t have it any other way.

RL: Tell us about your role as the OLEA Sales Specialist and PPCI.

SE: My current focus is selling OLEA, affectionately known by my team and I as ‘my baby’. Site tours in 90+ degree weather at an active construction site, tennis shoes and hard hats sum up a day in my life as an OLEA Sales Specialist. Watching OLEA grow and having the opportunity to pre-sell the residences has been a highlight of my career.

RL: What excites you about working in real estate?

SE: Every aspect excites me! While the industry comes with its fair share of thrills, for me, it’s about building connections with people and working with them to find their dream home. There’s nothing more exciting and fulfilling than handing over the keys to a client.

RL: What positive developments have you noticed across the islands?

SE: Improved and modernised infrastructure, excellent standard of healthcare and education, increased options in recreational activities, the culinary capital of the Caribbean… now all we’re missing is a Louis Vuitton store!

RL: How would you describe the current real estate market in Cayman?

SE: Cayman is booming! Despite everything the world has been through in the past few years, like the pandemic, the great resignation, inflation and the global
macro-economic environment, our market has continued to thrive.

RL: Any outstanding properties that make great investments?

SE: Lacovia definitely stands out! It is the newest luxury development located
on one of the most coveted areas along Seven Mile Beach.

RL: What is the funniest real estate question you have been asked?

SE: “Where is the fireplace and chimney in this home?”

RL: What is your best property advice?

SE: Whenever I speak to anyone about the importance of real estate, I go back to a quote by Warren Buffet that I find to be very true: “Never depend on a single income.
Make investments to create a second source.”

RL: Describe your perfect day in Cayman.

SE: Spinning class first thing in the morning, a healthy breakfast and taking the boat out to spend the rest of the day at Starfish Point with friends.
